Enjoy your 4th of July celebrations this year while also giving Earth some freedom from carbon emissions and pollutants. We jotted down some ways you can make the celebrations high in both eco quotient and fun quotient.     1) Thinking of doing a BBQ outside? Try to add more veggies in your grill this time. You and your guests might just love the new look and flavor with these colorful additions. Simple changes like these can go a long way. If each home can cut down even a pound of beef, the water savings are huge considering it needs 2,000 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of beef versus less than 100 gallons of water required for most veggies....

Lockdown opening is wrapped in plastic

Positioned as more hygienic, plastic is entering at places where it was never there or atleast wasn’t as predominant. Bars are serving drinks in plastic cups, supermarkets are wrapping fresh produce in packages, offices are adding plastic coverings to doorknobs and elevators, and businesses are adding plastic screens to keep distance. The ‘open and fresh’ model is getting changed to ‘wrapped and fresh’ for the fear of spreading the virus.

What's our focus area in the broad sustainability umbrella

Sustainability gets talked so much these days. There are numerous blogs, newsfeeds, social media accounts, company initiatives that talk about sustainability. It may be overwhelming to understand if they are all talking about the same thing or if there are different approaches to sustainability. Let me take a stab at explaining this.Sustainability is a broad umbrella. Wikipedia defines ‘Sustainable Living‘ as, “a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual’s or society’s use of the Earth’s natural resources and personal resources. Practitioners of sustainable living often attempt to reduce their carbon footprint by altering methods of transportation, energy consumption, and diet”.

Newspaper that you are not reading is causing pollution

We are living in trying times due to Covid-19. As I walk around my neighborhood  (that's pretty much the only activity you can do these days!) - I see a lot of newspapers with a plastic sleeve on getting delivered to various houses on their driveways or front porches but not getting picked up by the residents. Some people don't really want to bring those newspapers inside their homes due to fear of potential exposure to coronavirus on the newspaper and have been relying more on digital media.
